Suffolk Supply Chain

Suffolk Chamber is delighted to work in partnership with Suffolk County Council to deliver the Suffolk Supply Chain service.

The Suffolk Supply Chain brings together suppliers and contractors through a single-entry platform.

Taking advantage of the infrastructure projects in the region, businesses can ensure they are increasing their longevity and boosting their efforts in supporting the circular economy within the County by connecting with fellow businesses, engaging their own supply chains, and viewing opportunities and contracts that are available to tender for.

The platform, launched in early 2024, also has a suite of useful resources, information and signposting to other support organisations with access to funding, training, sustainability advice, accreditations, and much more. A variety of events and webinars are also on offer to bring businesses together, build upon relationships and ensure that businesses are fit to bid.

Suffolk Chamber Supply Chain Engagement

With the UK Government granting the final investment decision (FID) for Sizewell C, the country has taken a major step toward bolstering its energy security and achieving a low-carbon future. This landmark project will provide enough clean, reliable electricity to power six million homes, creating thousands of skilled jobs and offering significant opportunities for local businesses, particularly across Suffolk and the wider East of England.

At the heart of ensuring local firms can seize these opportunities is the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce’s Supply Chain Engagement team. As the designated gateway for local and regional businesses wishing to engage with the Sizewell C project, this team plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between regional SMEs and the complex demands of major infrastructure development.

The Supply Chain Engagement team works closely with Sizewell C as part of its procurement strategy, helping identify and support businesses that want to become part of this extensive supply chain. From concrete and catering to metal fabrication, landscaping, and logistics, the scope of work is vast, diverse, and rich with potential for companies across various sectors.

A dedicated website serves as a central hub for information, guidance, and registration, making it easy for businesses to explore the opportunities and understand the requirements needed to participate. More than just a facilitator, the Chamber’s team also helps companies build capacity, improve readiness, and connect with Tier 1 contractors, ensuring that local enterprises are not only involved but positioned to thrive on the Sizewell C project.
