About Suffolk Chamber of Commerce in West Suffolk
Suffolk Chamber in West Suffolk, part of Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, has a vibrant business membership with businesses ranging from tourism and horseracing to manufacturing, renewables, technology and burgeoning life science sectors on the border with Cambridgeshire. We provide the tools to ensure our members can operate more effectively and productively, secure in the knowledge that they have an active, supportive and well-respected organisation behind them.
As a grassroots organisation, it both contributes to campaigns that benefit the whole of the county’s business community and also seeks to deliver improvements that are specific to our area.
West Suffolk is the most varied district in Suffolk in terms of the economy. Having strong links to Cambridge and being well placed on the A14 and rail network, West Suffolk has 7,300 businesses, 25 of which are considered large and 130 which are considered medium. This compares very strongly with the rest of Suffolk and demonstrates the importance of the West Suffolk economy. With further business growth around Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill and Mildenhall, the West Suffolk economy is likely to benefit from cross border links with Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Essex more so than other districts within the county.
