About Us

The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce has been providing unwavering support for the success of businesses in Suffolk, and the region's thriving economy, since 1884.

As a private sector, not-for-profit member led organisation, our core competencies of Connect, Support, Inform, and Inspire reflect our commitment to advocating for our members' interests at all levels. Through lobbying and advocacy, strong relationships with policymakers, networking events, professional development, business resources, and access to exclusive services, we empower businesses to grow and thrive.

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is the largest independent business forum in the county. The Chamber was originally established in 1884. Our membership accounts for over 100,000 employees and our reach is deep - with regular access and communication to many other businesses across every part of Suffolk and across every sector, where we champion, represent and respond as the voice of Suffolk business

But our impact extends beyond our members. We actively contribute to Suffolk's economic development by promoting job creation, business retention, and community outreach. By collaborating with various stakeholders, we work towards shared goals and objectives, fostering a thriving business ecosystem.

With our rich heritage of 140 years serving the Suffolk business community and our affiliation with the prestigious British Chamber of Commerce, we are uniquely positioned to provide the support and resources businesses need to succeed locally, nationally and globally. Our Network is committed to giving companies a place to be inspired, the support to grow, and a space where every business belongs.

Looking ahead, we will prioritise the key issues facing Suffolk business; people and skills, infrastructure, environmental responsibility, business resilience, growth and trade, diversity, inclusion, and social value. Through thematic groups, place forums, and effective communication channels, we will inform, listen, learn, and advocate for businesses on these critical issues.

Since 1994, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce has proudly maintained a formal relationship with Stowmarket & District Chamber of Commerce, solidifying a dynamic and collaborative partnership to support the business community across the county.

Under the linked agreement, Stowmarket & District Chamber of Commerce operates as an autonomous, volunteer-led organisation with its own constitution, identity, and business plans. This agreement allows the Stowmarket Chamber to retain its local focus and autonomy while benefiting from its association with Suffolk Chamber, the accredited County Chamber.

Key Objectives of the Agreement:

Together, we continue to champion businesses, strengthen our collective voice, and drive economic success across Suffolk.
