The Suffolk Convention
The Suffolk Convention is a by-invitation only summit aimed at bringing together in one place as many of the key decision-makers and influencers within the Suffolk system as possible.
Hosted by BT Martlesham on 18th October, we will be joined by all eight Suffolk MPs, senior business leaders from the county’s biggest and growing employers, the political and managerial leadership of all principal councils, plus top executives from the media, health and VCSE sectors.
The ambition behind The Suffolk Convention is to both better understand the challenges faced by our county in securing fairer funding from Government and to begin the process of identifying how we can better achieve our shared strategic asks over the next four or five years of this Parliament.
The morning falls into three parts:
- Expert panellist commentaries as to how Suffolk is really viewed by both Westminster and Whitehall
- Eight discussion groups to consider the possible answers to three questions arising from the panellists’ presentations
- Discussion group report backs, panellists’ reflections on these and possible next steps
This is a real showcase opportunity for Suffolk chamber to drive forward a more strategic approach to Suffolk’s lobbying of Parliament over the next four or five years.
