Export Documentation & Import Procedures
Export Documentation provides a practical approach to why and when documents are needed. It includes background information, uses and key information requirements for different documents that may be required. Confidence and knowledge in the field of export documentation will greatly improve the efficiency with which staff deal with overseas partners, freight forwarders, banks and other critical service providers.
The full day course will provide proficiency in producing a wide variety of export documentation as well as an understanding of the pros and cons of the different modes of transport. Some of the documentation that will be included includes; Proforma invoices, Export invoices, Export Cargo Shipping Instructions, Certificates of Origin (EC and Arab), Movement certificates, Air waybills, CMR notes, Couriers' waybills, ATA carnets, Packing lists, Export licences, Certificates of conformity, Drafts/bills of exchange.
This course will explain import documentation and procedures, including where to go for sources of international information and assistance. It makes importers aware of the typical errors that can be made, how to avoid them and how to comply with customs procedures– with particular emphasis on reducing costs.
The course will cover types of Import Entry, the role of HM Customs & Excise, Tariffs, Preferences and Quotas and the role of freight forwarders and clearing agents.
