General Election 2019

Since 2016, the particular issues facing the business community appear to have been marginalised in the wider political debate about the UK’s future.

The 2019 General Election offers an opportunity for businesses to explain what they are looking for from Westminster. Suffolk Chamber has set up this General Election Hub to both outline our ‘asks’ and to challenge Suffolk’s various Parliamentary candidates to back their local businesses.

In this Hub, we have included our General Election Manifesto. We are writing to these candidates both asking them to voice their support for its contents and for their answers to three key questions:

  • What do you think are the three biggest issues facing Suffolk businesses in the constituency in which you are standing?

  • If you were elected, how do you propose working with Suffolk Chamber of Commerce to address these issues?

  • To what extent do you think Brexit is an opportunity or challenge for the Suffolk business community – and in what ways?

We will be posting the responses in the relevant constituency pages on the Hub as we receive them.
