Article by Home-Start in Suffolk

Home-Start is a local family support charity supporting families in Suffolk for whom the pressures of family life have become too great to cope with alone. This can be for many different reasons such as: poverty, physical or mental health problems, isolation, drug or substance misuse, bereavement and many more. Home-Start matches each family to a trained volunteer who builds a trusted relationship with them offering them a professional friendship enabling them to grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children, improve their health and wellbeing and widen their links locally. Volunteers support the families on a weekly basis working with them for up to 3 hours a week or in a group setting.
