Suffolk New College

Suffolk New College offers more than 100 study programmes and apprenticeships from our state-of-the-art campus in central Ipswich.

The College specialises in ensuring students are ‘work-ready’ by learning the additional skills that can complement their academic qualifications when they enter the job market. During the last three years, 93% of our students who gained their main qualification either continued in Further or Higher Education or secured employment.

We pride ourselves on the support we provide for students, both academically and pastorally. Our courses mix theory with practical hands-on experience, helping to enhance students’ CVs and improve their career prospects.

The College enjoys strong links with commerce - a mutually-beneficial relationship that helps mould the structure and content of courses to produce hungry, talented young people who fully understand the requirements of employers.

Ofsted inspectors noted that “managers match the range of courses particularly effectively to the skills priorities of the local economy and to the needs of the community”.

We are passionate about the extensive apprenticeship opportunities we offer. Employing an apprentice can help your business to prosper and can boost the motivation of your staff. With one in five businesses employing an apprentice in a variety of professions, our aim is to make the apprenticeships we offer beneficial for both the employer and the employee.

The apprenticeships we provide further strengthen our links with local employers. They are the ideal way to ensure that you gain and retain skilled employees who have been trained in a manner that suits your business.

The College also offers a range of training solutions to suit the needs of your business. These range from bespoke training solutions, basic English and Maths, to one day master classes and university level courses.
