Sackers

Sackers plays a key role in helping Suffolk businesses to achieve their environmental objectives, with commercial waste recycling now an integral part of our operations, alongside metal recycling.

As companies pledge to reduce their carbon footprint and improve sustainability, they use Sackers because we recycle waste with incredible efficiency and fit in to their scope 3 requirement for those on the carbon journey. In the last full measured year, we recycled 19,270 tonnes of commercial waste, and we offer free waste audits and carbon reporting for each customer via their own customer portal, so that any business can assess the positive impact we make.

We like to lead by example and have pledged to become carbon neutral by 2040 – a full ten years before the Government’s 2050 net-zero target.

As such, we fully engage with implementing the three-scope carbon reduction elements:

  1. Cutting emissions from our operations, fleet and mobile plant
  2. Taking responsibility for our indirect emissions, like buying carbon zero electricity
  3. Requiring a carbon-reducing approach from our own supply chain, just as our bigger clients (local authorities, for example) demand it of us.

Your company is likely looking to tackle the same journey, so using Sackers’ services will help you along the road.

The business has been operating in Suffolk for nearly 100 years. We have a tremendous affinity with the county: we’re still owned and run by a local family, all the staff live in the county, and everyone loves to support community initiatives and sports clubs.
