In 2024, we celebrated 140 years of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, a major milestone that reflects the resilience, adaptability, and innovation of our business community.

From honouring key milestones to uncovering untold stories, our year-long C140 project brought together members, patrons, and partners to celebrate Suffolk’s rich business heritage. With support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we explored how the Chamber has supported local businesses through two world wars, economic shifts, global pandemics, and major social change, including the evolving roles of women and migrant communities in business.
Throughout the year, we highlighted the themes shaping our future: diversity, innovation, and sustainability. The ideas, stories and connections from C140 continue to inspire our work and reinforce our mission to champion Suffolk’s business landscape for the next generation.
We are grateful to everyone who took part in the celebrations and look forward to building on this foundation as we move into the next chapter of the Chamber’s journey.
Though the official celebrations have concluded, the legacy lives on.

The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is excited to unveil the ‘C140 Project’, an ambitious two-year initiative commemorating 140 years of fostering business growth within the county. This exciting endeavour aims to showcase the rich history and vibrant evolution of the Suffolk business community over the past century and a half, spotlighting the historical journey of the Chamber and its esteemed membership over the past 140 years.
