Vertas Group Honoured with 2025 King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is proud to share that our patron, Vertas Group, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 King’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, one of only 27 organisations nationwide to receive this esteemed honour.

The King’s Awards for Enterprise are the most respected business accolades in the UK, recognising outstanding achievement in categories such as innovation, international trade, sustainable development, and opportunity promotion. This award is a testament to Vertas Group’s unwavering commitment to environmental responsibility across every area of its integrated facilities management services.

Highlights of Vertas Group’s sustainability work include:

  • A 22% absolute carbon reduction across energy, water, travel, waste, and paper use.

  • 99% of waste diverted from landfill.

  • £2.2m saved through sustainable procurement and elimination of single-use plastics.

  • Use of chemical-free, water-based cleaning solutions and local supply chains.

Ian Surtees MBA, FIoD, Group CEO of Vertas Group, commented:
"Receiving the King's Award for Enterprise is a testament to our team's hard work and dedication to sustainability. This award not only recognises our efforts but also motivates us to continue making a positive impact throughout the UK."

The King’s Awards emblem may now be used by Vertas for the next five years — a badge of honour for their leadership in creating a greener, more sustainable future.
