Fiscale Supports Harry As He Heads Off For India Challenge
Haverhill based Research and Development (R&D) tax credit specialists, Fiscale, have given their financial support to help Harry Singleton, a former student of Samuel Ward Academy, to undertake a World Challenge to India.
Harry, who is now studying at Cambridge Academy for Science and Technology, will be joining his former classmates from Samuel Ward for the trip. The Samuel Ward group of 17 students will fly to India from Heathrow on the 19th July.
As part of their World Challenge experience Harry and the rest of the group will transfer from Delhi to Nainital, a Himalayan town in the Uttarakhand region. At this point the group will lose all access to technology! They will start with an acclimatisation trek to Mountain Quail Camp before embarking on a 3 day trek to Kunjukharak Temple, in the dense foothills of the Himalayas.
After the trek in the mountains the group will work on a community project and live amongst the local villagers offering support around the development of educational facilities. The trip ends with a visit to a tiger reserve and the Taj Mahal.
Harry, who will celebrate his 15th birthday whilst in India, is most looking forward to experiencing new cultures. Harry has spent the last two years fundraising for the Challenge. His fundraising efforts included undertaking a ten mile sponsored walk, a fifty mile sponsored cycle ride, carrying out gardening and odd jobs, running car boot sales and holding a cake sale. Fiscale donated £300 in sponsorship towards the cost of the Challenge.
Fiscale’s CEO and Technical Director, Stephen Bunting comments, “We have a strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Fiscale. We were very happy to support Harry in his fundraising for the World Challenge. It is a fantastic opportunity for a young person to challenge and develop themselves. Getting involved in the community project will help to make a positive contribution to improving the educational facilities on offer to people living in a remote village in India. If only those experiences had existed when I was at school! We wish Harry a safe and successful trip.”
Since 2014 Fiscale has played an active role in supporting good causes and charities within the local community.
For the last three seasons Fiscale has sponsored the football kit for various teams for Haverhill Rovers. Last year the company sponsored new uniforms for the Junior and Senior teams of the Fire and Ice Majorettes and supported the Pim Jam Music Festival and the Haverhill Show. In 2018 and 2019 Fiscale sponsored the Samuel Ward Drama and Music department’s annual productions and have assisted with the Haverhill Heroes Awards ceremony, run by Castle Manor Academy students and the Haverhill Echo.
Support of Haverhill charities has involved a charitable donation to the Major’s Charity Bike Ride, which was raising funds for the Joshua Tarrant Trust, and regular donations to Reach.
