Pride in Suffolk's musical youth
A harmonious partnership has been struck between one of the region's leading accountancy firms and Aldeburgh Music, with sponsorship of a Snape Proms concert by some of Suffolk's most talented young musicians.PKF Accountants & business advisers supported a night to remember when the Suffolk Youth Orchestra performed at the renowned Snape Maltings Concert Hall as part of the Snape Proms. The Suffolk Youth Orchestra is a full symphony orchestra of 90 players, all between the ages of 14 and 21, and ranks among the finest of its type in the UK.Graham Randall, pictured with the group, a Partner at PKF - which has offices in Ipswich, Great Yarmouth and Norwich - described the evening as a fabulous example of young people excelling at what they do. 'It was really encouraging to see young people from Suffolk performing at such a high level. The musicians were so enthusiastic and extremely accomplished and the concert was much enjoyed by the audience.'Conducted by Philip Shaw, the Suffolk Youth Orchestra, just back from their tour of central Spain, played a programme including music by Bernstein, Poulenc, Elgar and Mahler. It was one of the first concerts to be held at this year's Snape Proms, which continues throughout the month of August.Elizabeth Stephenson, Sponsorship Manager for Aldeburgh Music, which organises the Snape Proms, thanked PKF for their generosity in supporting the concert and praised the young musicians for their superb performance.
