Suffolk Chamber Supports Global Growth Through India Trade Event
Suffolk Chamber of Commerce brought Suffolk businesses together on Wednesday 4 March at Ipswich Town Football Club for their “From Strategy to Success: A Practical Guide to Trading with India” event, supporting Suffolk Businesses considering entry into, or expansion within, one of the world’s fastest‑growing major economies.
Chaired by Stuart Gregory, Managing Director of Wallis Shipping, the event focused on the practical realities of trading with India, including regulation, compliance, finance, risk management, and the importance of building trusted local partnerships.
A fireside discussion moderated by Koyas Miah, International Trade Manager at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, featured Ms Nidhi Mani Tripathi, Minister (Economy) at the High Commission of India in London and former Chief Negotiator for the UK–India Free Trade Agreement, alongside David Johnstone, Head of FTA Utilisation at the UK Department for Business and Trade. The discussion explored relationship‑building, regional diversity, and the opportunities presented by the forthcoming UK–India Free Trade Agreement.
Industry insight was also provided by Siddharth Mukne, Managing Director at Ergo Europe Ltd, and Prasan Parekh, Trade Director at HSBC Bank, offering practical guidance to help businesses turn international ambition into action.
During the event, Suffolk Chamber highlighted its dedicated India Trade Office, providing tailored market insight, local partner connections, and cultural and regulatory guidance to support businesses taking their first or next step into the Indian market.
