Suffolk Chamber of Commerce Announces Charity Auction Success with £8,000 Raised for Local Charities
The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce that this year’s Prestige Dinner charity auction raised an incredible £8,000 in support of four Suffolk-based charities: Access Community Trust, Headway Suffolk, St Nicholas Hospice Care, and Suffolk Family Carers.
The charity auction, held during the Chamber’s 140th annual black-tie Prestige Dinner at Milsoms Hall Kesgrave, showcased the generosity of Suffolk’s business community. Attendees participated enthusiastically in the auction, which featured an array of prizes donated by local businesses, all contributing to the remarkable fundraising total.
Nick Evans, President of the Suffolk Chamber, commented on the success of the evening: “We are thrilled to announce that this year’s auction raised £8,000 for four incredibly deserving Suffolk based charities. It’s a true testament to the collective spirit of the Suffolk business community. Each of these charities makes a vital difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals across our region, and we’re proud to support them in their mission.”
The donations will be distributed evenly among the following charities, supporting the vital services offered by these charities.
Access Community Trust, originally founded as a homeless night shelter in Lowestoft, has expanded its reach over nearly 50 years, now offering homelessness support across East Anglia and providing mental health and wellbeing services to vulnerable people of all ages.
Headway Suffolk provides crucial rehabilitation, advice, and support services to individuals aged 16 and over who have sustained brain injuries through trauma, stroke, or other neurological conditions. Their work is essential for helping individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life.
St Nicholas Hospice Care is dedicated to offering professional support and clinical care to individuals and their families during some of life’s most challenging moments, providing a wide range of services, from medical care to bereavement support.
Suffolk Family Carers, supporting family carers for over 35 years, offers guidance, emotional support, and advocacy services to family carers of all ages. Their work improves the wellbeing of those providing care to loved ones, ensuring they receive the recognition and assistance they need.
John Dugmore, Chief Executive of the Suffolk Chamber, added: “Our charity auction not only adds excitement to the evening but, more importantly, it allows us to give back to the community that supports us. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and bid on prizes, helping us raise funds for these incredible charities, each of which plays a vital role in Suffolk.”
The Suffolk Chamber of Commerce extends its thanks to all attendees, donors, and sponsors who made the Prestige Dinner and charity auction such a success. This event underscores the Chamber’s commitment to fostering not only business growth but also social responsibility within the local community.
