YES. Youth Employment Service Launches New Website
The East Suffolk Youth Employment Service, YES, has launched a brand-new website to help young people cope with the challenges of unemployment. With a weekly jobs board, helpful articles and even an online booking system, it is full of resources to support 16-24 year olds into work, education or training.
Powered by Inspire Suffolk, YES gives 1-to-1 support on everything from CV writing to finding the right career path. However, the government’s restrictions in response to Covid-19 have meant they could no longer meet with young people face to face and in person, despite uncertainty in the jobs market making the service more vital than ever.
Throughout the past few months, Inspire Suffolk have learned to adapt, and have drawn on phone calls and video chat to continue helping young people in the coastal areas of Suffolk. In addition, they have accelerated their development and adoption of digital services, including the introduction of the new website.
Where classroom teaching and training may have been the norm eight weeks ago, Google Classroom has filled the void, and the YES Careers Club was developed. This bespoke, 6-week programme of structured learning and video conferencing platforms is augmenting 1-2-1 coaching activities and facilitating mock interviews.
If you know a young person aged 16-24 in Suffolk, who would like support finding their pathway into work, please direct them to yessuffolk.co.uk or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
