Cory Brothers becomes Suffolk Chamber’s logistics patron
Two leading Suffolk organisations, with a combined trading history of over 310 years, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at maximising their positive presence across the local business scene – and beyond.
Cory Brothers’ Ipswich-based head office operation is a key part of the leading logistics and maritime service provider, which delivers a seamless solution for its clients’ transportation needs.
Founded in 1842, the company has a worldwide network with offices in the Far East and the USA, and is seen as an innovator in this fast-paced and fast-changing sector, which is of particular importance to the Suffolk economy given the major ports hosted by the county.
Cory Brothers has been a member of Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, the county’s leading business organisation, for a number of years and decided to deepen and widen its involvement by becoming the former’s latest patron.
Suffolk Chamber’s patron scheme is a strategic partnership between an organisation and the Chamber. It allows patrons to take advantage of Suffolk Chamber’s highly influential connections with business, media and political leaders throughout the county and beyond and so influence policy at a national level. Patrons also gain access to additional exclusive benefits beyond those available to other members.
Cory Brothers, group managing director, Peter Wilson, explained why patronage was a natural ‘next step’ for the company: “with our future being rooted in Suffolk and our global headquarters in Ipswich. Our relationship with Suffolk Chamber has always been of great value and we recognise this further by taking this to the next level. We have a great team of people, who live in Suffolk, and we’ll always play our part in supporting local and the community; especially during this challenging time, we must continue to support, plan and invest.”
John Dugmore, Suffolk Chamber’s chief executive, said: “We were founded in 1884 and there aren’t that many Suffolk Chamber members, leave alone patrons, who have had a longer trading history than us.
“So it’s with a real sense of pleasure that Cory Brothers have come on board as our logistics patron, as their enduring trading success is very much built on our shared values of long-term, continuous investment and a focus on adapting to the needs of customers.”
