Ashtons expands planning and construction team
Ashtons Legal has expanded its planning and construction team with the recruitment of chartered legal executive Joanna Baker.
The team has been growing rapidly recently, with the appointment of Amy Richardson, a partner specialising in planning matters and Sally Challinor, a partner who has expertise in environmental issues.
Joanna joins Ashtons from a senior in-house role at a large environmental, engineering and building control consultancy. Joanna - who originally trained at the firm - returns to deal with the resolution of construction disputes, professional negligence claims and adjudication.
She joins Sarah Duncan, a senior associate who leads the construction work stream and has a growing reputation for providing pragmatic and practical advice on complex construction projects, such as the recently completed Cambridge Mosque at Mill Road which is Europe’s first eco mosque and involved a significant international element.
Sarah Duncan comments: “I am delighted to welcome Joanna to the team, having worked in-house she is well placed to understand the concerns and ambitions of construction clients. Her arrival bolsters the expanded offering we can provide to our development, education and public sector clients and we can now offer a real “cradle to grave” approach on development projects. I am delighted to welcome Joanna to the team and wish her well with her future careers at Ashtons”.
