PKF goes downunder
When it comes to unusual job opportunities, there are few businesses in the Eastern region as well placed as PKF Accountants & business advisers to offer opportunities for overseas travel.
PKF International has offices in 119 countries and clients in as far flung places as the Falklands, so staff - like Nicola Steinson (pictured) from the PKF (UK) LLP Ipswich office - are enjoying a wide range of experience and the opportunity to travel.
Nicola, a senior business adviser, has just returned from a secondment at PKF (UK) LLP's associate firm PKF Australia, where she spent three months in Sydney developing her professional skills.
Nicola, who joined PKF two years ago and works in the audit and assurance department, also went to the Falkland Islands for two weeks last year.
She said: 'The Australian trip was a great experience that benefits everyone. We help our counterparts in PKF Australia with their end of financial year workload, and they do the same for us.
'This has been a fantastic opportunity for me to gain additional skills and experience that come from working abroad in a different business environment.
'I am now able to bring these back and share them with my Ipswich colleagues. At the same time it has given me, personally, a chance to see new places and meet new people.
'There are few employers that offer such a brilliant opportunity. I wanted to find out what it's like working in other countries - and thanks to the PKF International network, that's just what I've done.'
