Enterprise Hub Goes from Strength to Strength

Enterprise Hub Goes from Strength to Strength

The Eastern Enterprise Hub, in its fourth year, continues to expand and has fully established itself as a source of regional support for East Anglia, encouraging entrepreneurs of all ages across many disciplines. This is all done with a voluntary board of key figures across the county who give their time and support to help grow enterprises in the East of England.

With this in mind, Harry Berry the Chairman of the Board said:

“It is important that as the operation grows and expands, we have a board that represents the whole of East Anglia.

“After three and a half years of great service, Paul Winter and Judith Mobbs have stepped down from the board. I want to take this opportunity to thank them both for every moment they have contributed to establishing the Hub, as they were crucial to its success.”

The Hub has appointed Chris Bally – Assistant Director at Suffolk County Council, Andrew Staff – CEO at Notcutts, Jenny Milsom – Vice Principal at Suffolk One and Don Young to serve the board for two years.

The Eastern Enterprise Hub saw a considerable amount of growth in 2013. Introducing a range of new and dynamic programmes, it expanded its offering across the region, opening new Enterprise Hubs in both Essex and Norfolk.

Simon Mead, CEO at the EEHub said:

“I am really looking forward to working with our new board members as the Hub continues to expand its offering across the East of England. We are certainly going to need their experience as we move forward across the region with the Colchester and Norwich Hubs up and running. The Norwich Hub is currently recruiting for its SSE-East Cool 10 Environmental Entrepreneurs Programme, set up for individuals who want to run their business in a way that benefits the environment.”

New programmes delivered at the Colchester Hub include The Creative Technology Programme, delivered in partnership with Essex County Council, which is designed to run alongside the day-to-day tasks of setting up a digital enterprise. The Early Stage Entrepreneurs Programme will also be held there and is specifically for individuals who are at the beginning stages of their entrepreneurial journey.
