Energetic types at accountants and business advisers PKF East Anglia are putting away their calculators to take part in the dragon boat charity event this weekend.

It's all in aid of St Elizabeth's Hospice and PKF's Ipswich office is fielding a team of up to 11 people for the dragon-boat racing being held at Alton Water.

Daniel Dickson, one of the team, which will be raising £750 for the charity along with up to 17 other teams, said they would be taking part in the races on Saturday June 9.

"We're looking forward to it, although we haven't had a lot of practice yet, but we'll give it our best shot," he said.

The dragon boat race is being held in tandem with the hospice's summer fete at Holbrook's Royal Hospital School, but it's the first time the organisers have held the race. The back-to-back events are the charity's annual biggest fundraiser.
