Commenting on the launch of the Kickstart scheme, allowing employers to offer government-subsidised work placements for young people aged between 16-24 who are claiming Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment, BCC Head of People Policy Jane Gratton said:

Sir John Leman High School in Beccles has become the second educational provider in the county to become a Young Chamber Plus member.
The leading voice for the business community in Suffolk has been awarded the Youth Pledge Marque from New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).
"Suffolk Chamber of Commerce believes that the nuclear industry has been good for the county’s economy. It has been good for Suffolk thanks to both the jobs created directly and indirectly and in terms of investment in the skills base of the local workforce over many decades.

We have been working closely with EDF Energy through our local supply chain website to ensure that as many local businesses have a chance to pick up contracts as possible should Sizewell C get the go-ahead.
