Suffolk Chamber appoints senior finance executive to board

Suffolk’s largest and most influential business organisation has confirmed the appointment of Mags Humphrey, group finance director at Beccles-based Broadwater Mouldings Ltd., as a member of its board.

Mags joins the ten other existing members of the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce board, which has responsibility for the good governance and overall strategic direction of one of the largest chambers of commerce in the country.

After a strong foundation in accounting practice, Mags worked in the manufacturing sector for over 25 years. As the Group Finance Director at Broadwater Mouldings and Hatcher Components, Suffolk-based companies supplying a global market with first class composite mouldings, Mags is a key part of a leadership team which has overseen year on year growth. It was Mags who successfully put forward Broadwater Mouldings for a King’s Award for Enterprise and two East Suffolk Business Awards in 2024.

Mags said: “I thrive on facilitating discussions and exchanging ideas, particularly when it comes to problem solving, allowing me to dovetail solid financial strategy with wider business considerations. And so, when asked I had no hesitation in accepting a position on Suffolk Chamber’s board. Suffolk Chamber is a great advocate for and practical supporter of the county’s business community and I want to contribute wherever I can to its ongoing success.”

Nick Evans, president of Suffolk Chamber, added: “Businesspeople such as Mags are the lifeblood of our organisation. We are so pleased that she has accepted the invitation to join our board and we are very much looking forward to working with her over the years ahead.”

Outside of work, Mags lives in rural Suffolk and enjoys running and cycling and is a keen supporter of theatre and live performance.
