Suffolk Business Ambassadors go behind the scenes at Suffolk Rural

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce welcomed Suffolk Business Ambassadors to a behind the scenes visit at Suffolk Rural, a specialist campus of Suffolk New College, offering insight into the college’s vision, priorities and future growth.

The event was hosted by Suffolk Chamber Board Director Mags Humphrey, Group Finance Director at Broadwater Mouldings and Hatcher Components, and took place at the Suffolk Rural campus. Ambassadors heard from Alan Pease, Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Suffolk New College, who shared an overview of the college’s strategic journey over recent years and its continued focus on delivering an exceptional learner experience.

Guests were given an exclusive opportunity to explore Suffolk Rural’s facilities, including its commercial farm, farm shop, horticulture unit, animal unit, equine centre and the newly developed rural business training centre. The visit highlighted the breadth of education, training and commercial activity taking place at the campus, as well as the opportunities available for businesses to engage with the college.

The event also showcased how Suffolk New College works closely with employers to support skills development across the county, from apprenticeships and industry partnerships to bespoke training and business engagement.

Businesses interested in becoming an industry partner, taking on an apprentice, hosting meetings at the rural business training centre, or attending Suffolk Rural’s Family Big Day Out in May are encouraged to contact the Suffolk New College team via [email protected].

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all those involved in making the event a success and for supporting continued collaboration between education and business across the county.
