Our three delightful Museums bring people into the town, boosting the local economy. 100k visitors came to the Kiss and Tell Exhibition, The Wolsey Exhibition, Ed Sheeran, the award winning Power of Stories and, most recently, Creating Constable.   These outstanding events offer businesses the opportunity to  reach potential customers and to give back to the community through sponsorship and membership.  Our Museums have some of the best, world class Exhibitions partnering with the Tate Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Gainsborough House and others.

Our Museums show some of the best British Art of any Museum in the UK and the High Street building has attracted a major Lottery grant for a refurbishment which is due for completion in 2025.  The Friends will contribute a substantial matching funding sum to this redevelopment project which is in its early stages and will be involving the community in decision making.  Major funders continue to hear about Ipswich and its successful Museums.

Our Corporate Angels, of which the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is one, are an important part of our annual giving programme which includes individual members and Angels who donate towards exhibitions, conservation and acquisitions.  Members enjoy private views and events as well as corporate advertisements in our 3 newsletters a year and a credit on our website – www.foim.org.uk

Our giving programme ensures that items are preserved and catalogued for research, and provide  exciting and innovative award winning educational facilities for children and families, online and in Ipswich.   FoIM contributes to Exhibitions that appeal to younger people as well as providing meeting places for people of all ages.  The active volunteer programmes enhance people’s knowledge and quality of life.

The thriving Friends’ successful projects include a rare Dutch painting by Jan Porcellis which together with textile and sculpture restorations can be enjoyed by future generations.  The Friends attracted the BBC's Antiques Roadshow on two occasions to Christchurch Park bringing kudos and national recognition for our town and our Museums.    Please join the Friends to enjoy the season of events ahead including a Summer Party in July and Private Views.   Sponsorship opportunities are available and can enhance your business brand..   Please contact Denise Fiennes at: contact@foim.org.uk and see below for membership information.
