Chamber Trade Accelerator Programme

Helping Businesses Enter Global Markets

A Transformative New Approach to International Growth

The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has launched the Trade Accelerator Programme, a targeted and outcomes‑driven initiative designed to turn the UK’s global ambition into tangible export results. The programme directly addresses the challenges many UK SMEs face when entering new markets, including identifying trusted partners, navigating regulatory systems, validating market demand and converting interest into real commercial success.

Built with a practical and commercially focused approach, the Trade Accelerator equips high‑potential UK businesses with the tools, insight and connections needed to secure international customers, partners and investment.

What Is the Trade Accelerator?

The Trade Accelerator represents a new, practical model of trade support, created by the BCC to help UK businesses enter and scale in high‑value global markets with confidence.

Common barriers the programme is designed to overcome
  • Difficulty finding trusted in‑market partners
  • Fragmented or generic export support
  • Uncertainty around regulatory and commercial requirements
  • Lack of structured follow‑up to convert interest into deals
  • Limited insight into real market demand

“Businesses don’t need more theory, they need real opportunities, vetted partners and sustained commercial support.”

Steven Lynch, Director of International Trade at the BCC

What the Trade Accelerator Delivers

Participants benefit from a comprehensive support package that includes:

  • Structured preparation and expert‑led capability building
  • Deep market and regulatory insight
  • Mentoring from experienced exporters
  • Curated matchmaking with validated in‑market partners
  • A high‑impact trade mission to Singapore
  • Sustained post‑mission support to activate deals, partnerships and revenue

The programme is delivered through a coordinated partnership between the British Chambers of Commerce, BritCham Singapore, NatWest, UK Government departments, UK Export Finance, Innovate UK and the Singapore Economic Development Board. This ensures businesses receive aligned support, from financial readiness and regulatory guidance through to market entry and growth.

A Pilot with National Ambition

The initial Trade Accelerator cohort is a six‑month pilot programme designed to support up to 30 high‑potential UK SMEs operating in the life sciences sector.

Participating businesses are selected for their capacity to scale exports into Southeast Asia’s rapidly growing markets.

Insights and learning from the pilot will be used to expand the model into additional regions and sectors, including the United States, India, the Gulf, and wider Indo‑Pacific markets, through the BCC’s global Chamber network.
