About our speakers:

Paul Clement, Chief Executive of Ipswich Central

Paul is Chief Executive of Ipswich Central, the Business Improvement District (BID) that includes 625 businesses within the town centre area. Born in Ipswich, he is passionate about the town and an ambassador for the Vision project that has led to a number of recent improvements, including the newly redeveloped Cornhill Square. Paul's involvement with town and city centre management started in 2000 and led to the creation of CMS, a specialist Place-shaping consultancy. In 2018, CMS was acquired by Savills where Paul is now Director, Head of Place-shaping alongside his role in Ipswich. Most recently he has spoken publicly about the 'crisis' faced by Britain's High Streets and the new ways of thinking required to tackle the issue. His presentation to the Greater Ipswich Chamber will be entitled: Town centres like Ipswich: 'crisis' versus 'opportunity'?

Terry Hunt, Chair of Ipswich Vision

Suffolk-born Terry Hunt was Editor of the East Anglian Daily Times for more than 20 years before retiring in September 2017.Since then, he has been working with a number of local organisations and charities. He is chair of the Ipswich Vision board, a partnership of key organisations working to regenerate Suffolk's county town.

Terry has lived in Ipswich for more than 30 years. He is married to Jane, who is the EADT's Crown Court correspondent. They have three grown-up children and a granddaughter. After his life was saved when he suffered a cardiac arrest in Ipswich town centre, Terry is campaigning to raise awareness of the importance of CPR and defibrillators. He and his sister recently completed a 61-mile walk along the Suffolk coast to raise money to buy more defibrillators. In his spare time, Terry enjoys playing golf (badly) and is a long-suffering Ipswich Town season ticket holder.
