Kier Group, a leading infrastructure services, buildings, and housing group, and Suffolk Chamber Patron, recently held its annual Pride of Kier Awards ceremony. The event celebrates the hard work and dedication of the company's employees. This year, the spotlight was on Peter Ingram, who received the award for his outstanding leadership in the launch of Kier's prison engagement and employment programme, "Making Ground."

Peter's determination and commitment to the success of the programme caught the attention of his colleagues and the industry. He went above and beyond to engage the supply chain and clients to ensure the project's positive impact. Peter was also a driving force in efforts to put a stop to roadworker abuse, expanding Kier's "expect respect" campaign to an external audience.

Additionally, Peter demonstrated exemplary leadership during storm Eunice, Franklin, and Dudley, providing round-the-clock support and collaborating with multiple stakeholders, taking over 600 emergency calls. His response was praised by the client, stakeholders, and the press.

In his 27 years of service for Kier, Peter has consistently shown a commitment to nurturing and developing his colleagues. He presented at the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, hosted webinars, and held talks with senior stakeholders to demonstrate the programme's positive community impact. Peter also identified opportunities for placements to seek employment through Kier's TfL contracts upon release.

Peter's tireless work ethic and leadership skills make him a role model for all employees. His dedication to the success of "Making Ground" and efforts to put a stop to roadworker abuse exemplify Kier's commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates. Kier is proud to have Peter as a member of its team and looks forward to seeing his future contributions to the company and the wider industry.
