Taste of Britain Food & Drink Mission to Russia 14-16 February 2011
13 Jan 2011
Discover food & drink opportunities in the most dynamic retail market of Russia – St. Petersburg and the North West region. Join the Food & Drink Mission to participate in the Taste of Britain in St. Petersburg.
MARKET BACKGROUND
Russia offers excellent opportunities for first time exporters as well as established mainstream and speciality manufacturers in the Food & Drink Sector. The Russian consumer market is one of the largest in Europe and one of the most promising and fast growing in the BRIC group. The food market is developing quicker than other FMCG segments and provides the largest contribution to the FMCG market value increase. St. Petersburg leads the way with the biggest number of retail chains and smaller outlets per capita in the country. “Post-recession” consumers are beginning to switch from cheaper products to more expensive medium-and high-end options as their purchasing power recovers and consumption grows. Clean foods are also becoming more popular.
