Business in India? A request from Geoffrey Van Orden MEP

Britain's export of goods to India - a country where we should have unparalleled access, drawing on our historic links and common language - is less than Belgium's and half that of Germany.  India is now one of the fastest growing economies in the world - over 8% in 2010.  It is full of opportunities for businesses large and small.  An EU-India Free Trade Agreement is likely to be signed this year and British businesses need to be in a position to take advantage of the even wider commercial possibilities that it will open up.

For as long as international trade has existed there have been concerns from exporters or sellers about releasing goods or providing services before they have been fully paid. At the same time from the buyer’s viewpoint, there are concerns about paying before receipt.
