China New Business Opportunities - A Free Seminar and Networking Event

IPSWICH

ENDEAVOUR HOUSE

20/10/2011 8:00AM to 10:00AM

Breakfast networking and seminar event to explore exciting new opportunities for British companies in China.

This free event, taking place on October 20th 8am -10am, in Endeavour House Ipswich, is hosted by Suffolk County Council and is supported by the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, the China Britain Business Council (CBBC) and UK Trade and Investment (UKTI).

China’s rapid economic growth offers many new opportunities for British companies looking for new markets abroad.

In the first three months of 2011, UK exports to China were up 28.8% on the previous year. In 2010, 63% of exports from the East of England to the emerging BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) markets went to China.

In the past, China’s growth has been driven by exports concentrated in the coastal provinces and great eastern cities like Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen.

However, levels of Chinese consumer spending are increasing, with 300 million Chinese now considered middle class, and development is spreading into inland China. As a result, new business opportunities are emerging in China’s rapidly growing inland regions and cities.

Opportunities for export can be found in all sectors, from manufacturing to the creative industries, education, legal and professional services, as well as consumer products, such as food and drink.

The guest speaker is Chris Cotton, Director of the China Britain Business Council (CBBC), who has 20 year's of business international experience, especially in China.

Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk County Councils, will also make an announcement about their joint work to attract Chinese investment, boost tourism and help companies export to China.

A light breakfast and refreshments will be available.
