The Irish Red Cross gives netXtra the website go-ahead

The Irish Red Cross

25 Aug 2011

netXtra, the website company specialising in the development of online solutions for membership and
not-for-profit organisations
, has been chosen to redesign and develop the new Irish Red Cross website in order to provide far more effective supporter involvement and visual impact, something that has been identified as lacking with their existing ‘static’ website.

The decision to redevelop the site was made as part of the organisation’s commitment to improving communications with, and services provided to, members and supporters.  The new website will allow the organisation’s staff full control of the website content via netXtra’s content management system. The new website will also enable the sale of products and services online and facilitate future developments in e-learning and e-commerce to ensure all business needs are met. The new site will also improve donor involvement and interaction; through such methods as introducing the ability to update a donor’s profile and personalisation preferences, offer more methods of contributions and involvement and by making it easier to donate online.

The Irish Red Cross’ decision to redevelop their website coincided with their decision to upgrade their existing back office management system to Iris CARE NG. The Irish Red Cross fully recognised netXtra's expertise not only in the provision of involving websites, but also in Iris CARE integration. The website project will comprise a phased joint Iris CARE implementation and integration program in order to substantially improve the visitor’s overall online experience, generally improve efficiency, and increase productivity by automating many of the organisation's existing manual processes.

Tanya Pocock, Head of IT at the Irish Red Cross, said of netXtra “We have found the team to be extremely supportive in helping us design a website that meets the needs of all of our stakeholders.  We are very pleased with the new website and are looking forward to its launch.”
