Suffolk Business Minded initiative launches its business forum..

20 Aug 2009
Suffolk Business Minded is moving its initiative forward with the launch of a new business forum. This follows on from the great success and positive feedback we received from the training events run earlier this year.
The 'Suffolk Business Minded Forum' will meet quarterly, and be lead by the business needs of local employers.
It is an opportunity for local businesses to meet, network and share knowledge on best business practice around stress, anxiety, depression and mental health issues in the workplace. There will also be opportunities to talk with leading local experts in HR & Recruitment , Occupational Health , employment law and supported employment , all of whom have been involved with the campaign from the start. The forums first meeting will be launched on Tuesday, 29th September'09 and is being held at the IP City Centre, Ipswich. The forum will run from 6pm - 8pm, and will establish the member’s needs and use this to lay the foundations for the future direction of the forum.
There will also be a workshop to help employers identify weaker areas within their business around these issues, and assist them in establishing strategies to make improvements.
We will also be hosting two guest speakers:
- Lesley Bailey [Development Manager, InterAct Ltd, MHFA national trainer] talking further on the Mindful Employer charter and how it can help your business as well as Mental Health First Aid and its role in the workplace.
- Hilary Edington, consultant psychologist for IAPT [Improving Access To Psychological Therapies] and how this service can help your employers stay in work whilst they get treatment they need for stress / anxiety related issues.
Free to attend
Refreshments and a buffet will be provided, and there will be opportunities to network with other local like minded businesses. The forum is sponsored by Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, and is *by local employers.
There will be a limited number of places available at the forum therefore booking early is advised.
To book your place please contact: Gabriel Tamaya on (01473) 329 785 or email gabriel.tamaya@smhp.nhs.uk or visit www.ifyouknew.co.uk .
*There will be a £20 charge should delegates book and fail to turn up [exceptional circumstances will be taken into consideration], as there are limited numbers of places and we want to ensure spaces are not taken from those who can attend.
