Spring launches website for Southwold Composer
25 Oct 2007
Spring Design & Advertising has launched a new website for Southwold and London based composer and pianist, Nathan Williamson.
The full package created for this talented Yale-educated musician includes the site, which allows visitors to hear his music, read articles, find out about performances and commissions and see a range of photographs. Spring also created a MySpace profile and stationery decorated with hand-written composition. The site is built in such a way to allow Nathan to keep the site up to date from his own computer, by use of their alliance partner, Shelton's, content management software.
Celebrity photographer Tom Howard was commissioned to capture images of Nathan at work, and around and about his beloved Southwold.
The style of the website is influenced by the clean air and big skies of the Suffolk coast, whilst allowing the text, music and images to tell their own story. The site is a treasure-trove of information, charting Nathan's career from school to recent composition and performances.
Born in Cambridge in 1978, Nathan studied composition with Malcolm Singer and piano Joan Havill at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and with Ezra Laderman and Martin Bresnick at Yale University, where he won several major prizes and was awarded a one-year teaching fellowship upon graduating. In 2008 Nathan will complete his Doctorate in composition at Oxford University, where he has been working with Robert Saxton. Nathan's work as a pianist has been described as 'Superbly musical and technically masterly,' (Bryce Morrison, January 2000) Nathan has been Artistic Director of the Chacombe Music Festival since 2005.
Says Erika Clegg, a director of Spring: 'We work with a lot of businesses of all types, and to work with a creative force like Nathan has been an incredibly rewarding exercise for our team. It allowed us to make full use of our beautiful home town, Southwold, in the photoshoot, as well as to express our own creative energies.'
Nathan has professed himself 'thrilled' with the site, which he considers to be an important element of the development of his musical career. 'I have been really impressed by Spring's work.'
