Regional businesses throw a life belt to help Suffolk weather the recession

With the current economic situation in the UK being described by some as the worst since the Wall Street crash of the 1920s, and the threat that it may continue into 2010, many businesses are finding themselves fighting a strong current to keep themselves afloat.
Birketts LLP joined forces with McTear Williams & Wood and Barclays Bank Plc this month to run a highly successful series of events across the region entitled "A Rough Guide to Trading Through a Recession". These seminars aimed to cover strategies and to give delegates tips for successfully managing their businesses through this challenging economic time.
Mark Henry, a partner in Birketts' Corporate Department, who organised the seminars, commented "Everyday in the news we read stories of doom relating to the recession - we want to show that the difficult times that businesses face can be addressed. By joining together and using our knowledge and expertise to help the companies who are working hard to continue to develop in the recession, we feel we can make a difference to businesses in the region."
