Rabies Vaccine available from The Travel Clinic Ltd, Ipswich and Cambridge
13 Sep 2011
Two of the three providers of rabies vaccine in this country have run out or are running low on stock. The Travel Clinic Ltd has a good supply of rabies vaccine for the moment. Rabies is a devastating disease, and can be passed on through bites, licks or scratches from any mammal, including bats. Post bite treatment can be used in the event of an exposure, but this is expensive and may be difficult to find in many of the high risk countries, particularly in view of the global shortage of vaccine.
Please get in contact with The Travel Clinic Ltd on 01223 367362, if you would like to receive this vaccine, or discuss it with us. A pre-travel primary course of rabies vaccine consists of three doses given over 3-4 weeks.
