Ipswich HR Conference – a huge success for Pure Resourcing Solutions
Pure was delighted to see so many HR professionals from Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex making the most of the ‘HR for Success’ Event that took place on Tuesday 23rd June at Trinity Park Conference Centre.
As well as the opening and closing talks by the key speakers – Ruth Badger and Ruth Proctor, Ruth Proctor, Retail HR Manager at AdnamsOn offer were12 seminars from some of the leading local companies - such as Birketts, Grant Thornton, Pure Resourcing Solutions and Quantrills – covering a wide variety of subjects such as workplace mediation, supporting senior management recruitment, reward strategies and social networking trends.
When not in seminars, delegates could wander round the 27 exhibition stands, showcasing HR expertise and advice from leading local companies, as well as attend free workshops and ‘ask the expert session’ on current issues.
There was a full house for the two seminars hosted by Pure. One addressed flexible working initiatives and how to retain key talent in today’s climate. Amanda Towers from KPMG gave a fascinating insight to the ‘flexible futures’ programme, where 85% of staff have signed up to reduced hours. The second seminar explored senior management team development and executive coaching which are two of the recently launched additional services provided by Pure.
The day ended with a speech from key speaker Ruth Badger from The Apprentice, who now runs 3 businesses as well as a successful TV career. She provided some interesting thoughts on HR and talent spotting as well as some inside gossip on the television programme!
Lynn Walters, Director of Pure Resourcing Solutions;
"We have been championing for an event like this in Ipswich for a long time and are delighted to have been a main sponsor for this CIPD conference and exhibition. Our role as recruitment consultants does not end once a placement has been made. Being able to offer additional services, like coaching and development as discussed in our seminar, is important to ensure once our clients have found the right person they keep them and get the most from them. The general response from delegates has been incredibly positive and we are proud to be associated with an event that has given HR professionals in East Anglia such an invaluable forum to share best practise and new initiatives."
