Public Finance Seminar

Public Finance Seminar

16 Sep 2009

The region's largest Public Finance Conference - a huge success for Pure.

Pure Resourcing Solutions were delighted with the success of their Public Finance Conference last month.  Organised by David Culley and supported by CIPFA, almost 100 delegates attended the conference at The Rowley Mile Conference Centre in Newmarket.

Peter Watson of the East of England Development Agency opened the stimulating and highly relevant programme,  with John Thornton, who writes for the  Public Finance publication, starting off the day’s schedule of seminars with his talk on ‘The future of the finance function’. This session was wide ranging and thought provoking, and well received by everyone.  Other seminar topics open to delegates included:

  • Effective Communication - delivering the right message the right way
  • Development in NHS Finance
  • Organisational Culture - What it is, why it matters and how organisations can harness it to drive change more effectively
  • Efficiency and Innovation - getting more for less
  • Public Health and World Class Commissioning
  • In times of change - how organisations can motivate, measure performance and develop their people towards greater business effectiveness

Feedback from the event was extremely positive.  Stephen Joyce, Chief Finance Officer for Uttlesford District Council said:

“The event was a wake up call for public service finance staff to get on with managing the economic challenges ahead, and it provided practical advice on what to do."
