Papworth Trust’s Fundraising Fire Walk!
09 Dec 2009
The trial was part of Papworth Trust’s ‘£10 Staff Challenge’. The challenge invites staff to raise as much money as they can with just a £10 start-up fund.
19 Papworth Trust staff, as well as other family members and friends, clubbed together to pay for the experience. Each member then raised sponsorship to walk 5 meters over the red-hot wood embers measuring between 600-800°C.
Jo Langley, Business Development Executive at Papworth Trust was one member of staff taking up the challenge. She said “I was really pleased to be involved with the fire walk. I had a great time and found it to be a really enjoyable experience. It certainly put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’!
Bridget Orchard, Fundraising Manager at Papworth Trust said “It’s great to see our staff working together to raise money for Papworth Trust. All of the money raised will certainly help us to achieve equality, choice and independence for disabled people”.
