Men in Skirts - keeping it clean!

Men in Skirts - keeping it clean!

04 Sep 2011

There were various Men in Skirts at last year’s DanceEast Fashion Show. The Show raised £15,000 for DanceEast’s work in the community and with children (http://www.danceeast.co.uk/press/271/Local-Businesses-help-to-make-DanceEast-Fundraising-Fashion-Show-a-success/). DanceEast works with looked after children and children at risk, as well as children in hospitals, bringing them the opportunity to use dance for creative expression and physical and psychological therapy, through expert tuition and support.

For example, at Ipswich Hospital the Dance Artist works closely with the Play Specialist Co-ordinator to work out the best type of approach for each individual child. Sessions take place either at the child's bed side, in the play room or the hospital school room.

The theme for the Fashion Show itself is Night and Day, the theme for the Men in Skirts is Mrs Mop (aka Mrs Doyle, Hilda Ogden, Freddie Mercury!…), the date is Friday 30 September, from 6pm (Fashion Show starts 7.30pm) through to about 1030pm (latest).

The men are ideally looking for each Mrs Mop to bring in as much sponsorship as they can but £100 as a bare minimum - can you help?

Some of the Men in Skirts have created their own fundraising page but otherwise you can donate via the Dance East Charity's website http://www.justgiving.com/danceeast/
