Ipswich Building Society is calling on local businesses to participate in a Charity Golf Day in aid of Cancer Campaign in Suffolk which will take place on Friday 9 September on the Constable Course at Stoke-by-Nayland Golf Club.

Several local businesses have already signed up to sponsor a hole (just £50 each) or to donate prizes for the charity raffle, although more are still needed. There are also still some places remaining for company golf teams or individuals to take part. Participants will enjoy coffee and bacon rolls before teeing off for 18 holes of golf, followed by a relaxing BBQ and prize giving. Entry for a team of four is £300 or £75 per person.

Paul Winter, Chief Executive, Ipswich Building Society said; “We are extremely excited by our charity golf day – it’s a great opportunity to step away from the desk and show support for a fantastic local charity. I would like to thank all those businesses who have already signed up to take part or who have kindly offered to sponsor a hole.”

“In particular, thanks should go to Cooper Ipswich who will be providing a brand new MINI (worth £15,000) to anyone who achieves a hole-in-one at the 18th hole. It will certainly make the last hole particularly competitive!”

Money raised throughout the day will be donated to Cancer Campaign in Suffolk, a local charity dedicated to providing high quality information and support services to cancer patients and their carers in Suffolk. The charity has recently launched an educational division and will be visiting local schools and community groups to give advice and guidance on how to spot the signs and symptoms of cancer.

Karen Hare, Chief Executive, Cancer Campaign in Suffolk said: “Our mission is to provide high quality support services to benefit the people in Suffolk. We are absolutely thrilled to have the support of Ipswich Building Society and we hope that everyone who has signed up to take part in the day has a fantastic time.”
