Flu vaccines have arrived in The Travel Clinic Ltd, Ipswich and Cambridge
15 Sep 2011
Our stock of flu vaccines for this season has started to arrive. We can start seeing adults and children over 5 years straight away. We expect the flu vaccine for children from 6 months up to adulthood to arrive next week. (Please discuss children with the nurse - they may need to have two doses if this is the first time they have received flu vaccine).
As always, the World Health Organization has made sure that the vaccines contain the three flu strains most likely to be circulating this season, and therefore will include the swine flu strain.
Last year, some tragic deaths due to flu led to high demand for flu vaccine after Christmas. This is later than we expect and led to many people being unable to find any flu vaccine in stock anywhere. Please book your flu vaccine early so you are not disappointed.
Although flu can be a mild to moderate illness that people recover well from, it will lead to many days off work and school each year. Death from flu is more common if you are already chronically unwell, very old, very young or pregnant. The swine flu strain in particular led to deaths and serious illness in people who would normally cope well with a flu infection.
Please get in contact with The Travel Clinic Ltd on 01223 367362 to book flu vaccine for yourself, your family or employees.
