Call for special images for Co-op’s 2010 calendar

Photos are flooding in for the East of England Co-operative Society’s competition to find the best local photographs for its special 2010 calendar.

The competition, which is open to all amateur photographers living in Norfolk, Suffolk or Essex, will give twelve lucky winners the opportunity to have their image published on 30,000 calendars.  £600 will also be shared by the winning photographers who will each pick up a £50 Co-op gift voucher.

The closing date for entries is 31st July 2009 so it is not too late to participate.

Miriam Harrup, Communications Manager of the East of England Co-operative Society said:  “This is an exciting project and it gives budding photographers the chance to really show what they can do.

“We are looking for vibrant photos showing a wide variety of images from across the whole region on the theme of ‘Visions of East Anglia’.   From seascapes and landscapes to quirky or unusual views of some of our famous local buildings or structures, we want people to use their imagination and be creative.”

Each of the twelve winning photographers selected by our judging panel will see their image printed on the calendar – one for each month, as well as receiving £50 of Co-op vouchers to spend as they wish.

More than 30,000 calendars will be printed and they will be available for sale from October 2009 in all East of England Co-op stores across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex.

Entries should be good quality unmounted 10 x 8 inch photographic prints, clearly labelled with the photographer’s name, address, contact telephone number (daytime and evening), email address and where and when the photograph was taken.  Photographs should be a minimum of 300dpi.  No more than two photographs should be submitted per entrant.  This competition is not open to professional photographers or for photos that have been previously published,
