Business Property Rating Revaluation - Act Now!

02 Mar 2010

A new Business Property Rating List comes into effect on 1 April 2010. The draft 2010 Rating List was published back in October and Summary Valuations have been sent out to the majority of business ratepayers.

Despite the difficult economic conditions, many businesses will still see significant increases in their assessments; in certain sectors, these increases often exceed 50%. Furthermore, there are other important changes occurring and such changes often lead to mistakes. It’s advisable therefore to have the summary valuation thoroughly reviewed.

The time to act is now as the ‘cut-off’ date for submitting a 2005 List Appeal is 31 March 2010.

HW Expense Control, in conjunction with its Property Services partner Altus Edwin Hill, a leading UK Chartered Surveyor, are offering to review rate liability over the entire 10-year period, covering both the 2005 and 2010 lists. They have negotiated an exclusive deal with Altus for all HW clients and contacts, which means that their fee will be taken (as a nominal percentage of any savings achieved) only when savings have been delivered.

Janet Waters Of Crystal Combinations

02 Feb 2012

I started my new business, www.crystalcombinations.co.uk , one year ago, designing and handmaking jewellery, and have been delighted with the way the business has been progressing.  The Christmas period was a very busy and exciting time for me, and now at the beginning of the year I am looking forward to getting well ahead with preparations for the forthcoming year.  I love semi-precious stones and in my designs I mainly combine these with other materials such as Swarovski crystals and Swarovski pearls.
