Big Balloon Charity Day

25 Jun 2010
Shoppers in The Buttermarket Shopping Centre, Ipswich and staff at Woodward Markwell have raised £200 for the ‘The Insurance Charities Big Balloon Day’. Staff at the local Insurance Brokers asked shoppers to donate £1 to guess how many balloons had been squeezed into a Mini.
The Insurance Charity is open to UK and Republic of Ireland’s Insurance Industry, giving vital financial and practical support to past and present employees of the insurance industry, and their dependent relatives, who are suffering financial hardship due to a sudden & unforeseen trauma. Last year almost £1.2million was spent helping nearly 1,000 beneficiaries who had nowhere else to turn.
Congratulations go to Kelly Mitchell of Wickham Market who won a 3 course meal for 2, kindly donated by Milsoms, Kesgrave Hall. Kelly’s guess was 2 away from the correct number of 110 balloons.
Woodward Markwell would also like to say thank you to The Buttermarket Shopping Centre, Ipswich for allowing the event to run with them.

I started my new business, www.crystalcombinations.co.uk , one year ago, designing and handmaking jewellery, and have been delighted with the way the business has been progressing. The Christmas period was a very busy and exciting time for me, and now at the beginning of the year I am looking forward to getting well ahead with preparations for the forthcoming year. I love semi-precious stones and in my designs I mainly combine these with other materials such as Swarovski crystals and Swarovski pearls.
