On November 3rd Image Beauty Salon of Old Foundry Rd in Ipswich, hosted the 'Time for a Change in Image' fashion show, and raised over a staggering £10,000 pounds for two deserving local charities.

Twenty one models strutted down the catwalk in cutting edge outfits from five local independent shops and boutiques. They also sported outlandish and sophisticated make up by the Image Beauty Salon team and creative hair by Sam and her stylists from John Oliver which ensured the event entertained and wowed the 350 strong sell out audience.

Owner of Image, award winning make-up artist Sue Carter had a very personal reason for choosing St Elizabeth Hospice as one of the beneficiaries of the funds raised. Sue's father received care at the Hospice before passing away in 2007, as did relatives of two other members of Sue's team. Sue said, " The hospice has cared for many people close to me and my team, we wanted to give something back. I am so pleased with how the event went, all of the money raised from the ticket sales has gone to the Hospice; I know my dad would be immensely proud".

Sara White, St Elizabeth Hospice’s corporate fundraiser, said: “It costs £6.6m to provide our services free of charge to people across Suffolk. This event raised £4,000 for the hospice which is amazing and will really make a difference. We know a lot of hard work went into the show and we would like to thank Image Beauty Salon for all their hard work and all the many people who helped make it such a success.”

Additional money was raised on the night though a raffle that boasted an Ipad 2, limited edition GHD's and an Amazon Kindle as just a selection of the prizes.
And to top it all off an auction took place that saw former Ipswich Town footballer Fabian Wilness offer himself up for a dream date!
All the money raised from the raffle and auction went to 4YP a local project helping young people with mental health problems.

Barbara Thomas and Kim Trotter co-ordinated and choreographed the event, "Tonight has been the culmination of months of hard work." Kim said, " So many people have given up huge amounts of time for free and everyone is thrilled that the night has been so incredibly successful. People are saying what a great show it was, and asking when is the next one, but I think Sue and her girls at Image will need a big rest before there is any chance of that! "
