“Plugged in Places” programme to install electric vehicle (EV)

16 Jan 2012
EValu8 Transport Innovations Limited at the University of Hertfordshire are delivering a Government-supported “Plugged in Places” programme to install electric vehicle (EV) charging points across the East of England.
The EV market in the UK is developing rapidly. Many car manufacturers have released full electric and plug in hybrid models during 2011 with more planned for 2012. Increasingly, companies will need to consider the benefits of EVs to their business and provide charging facilities for staff and visitors that chose to drive them. EVs can also have a potentially important role in business travel and vehicle fleets.
EValu8 Transport Innovations Limited provide the most cost-effective and efficient way for organisations and individuals to install charging points in Suffolk. Through their Government-supported programme, grants of 50% against the total costs of post purchase and installation (up to a maximum of £3,500 per post) are available. The scheme also offers free 'green' electricity for two years. For SMEs and Local Government organisations the level of grant available is increased to 75% discount. The funding is only available until March 2013 so interested parties are urged to make contact with the EValu8 team as soon as possible.
