New website by netXtra gives Association for Perioperative Practice healthy investment return in first month

22 Oct 2008
netXtra, the website development specialists based in Long Melford, Suffolk, have recently launched the new Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) website - www.afpp.org.uk - a site that has already provided a significant return in revenues within its first month. Furthermore, it has demonstrably improved member communication and interactivity. The website's extraordinary turn-around in success has been solely attributed to its new-found member appeal. Richard Cooper, Communications Manager at AfPP said 'Revenues generated online have rocketed with the popularity of our new website. A distinct increase in online membership registrations and renewals, as well as a notable rise in demand for conventional and downloadable course books and journals, and an increase in registrations for AfPP events, has all contributed to the huge success of our new site.' Mr Cooper went on to say 'Our new website is testimony to netXtra's ability to deliver an appealing website that gives tangible results, along with a noticeable return on investment.' The new website has a number of other defining features that are also appealing to AfPP's 9,000 members, who all work in, or supply to, hospital theatres around the UK. One of the more popular features netXtra has developed is the site's CPD (Continuing Professional Development) area. Here members can log into the secure members area and maintain their own career development itinerary. This can then be used to easily demonstrate the member's own personal development record - detailing criteria such as courses and seminars attended and qualifications gained. This is essential for members, such as health workers, where working practice dictates that they should be able to instantaneously show evidence of their professional credentials. The site is also able to analyse this information and identify areas for improvement; suggesting events, study days and other learning initiatives that may be of interest to the member in the future. The website also comes with a new 'Communities' area where members can interact with each other about related topics online and communicate, via a number of Forums and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). The site also gives visitors the ability to easily find information about the many regional AfPP groups around the UK. They can also use this area to download a host of useful AfPP subscription, best practice and guideline literature submitted by the Association's volunteer 'Link Members'.
