Ipswich Umbrella Trust seeking new Board Member

Ipswich Umbrella Trust seeking new Board Member

10 Jul 2009

The Ipswich Umbrella Trust grew out of an 'Open Forum on Homelessness' in February 2005, hosted by the Mayor of Ipswich.  From the 100 or more people who attended it became clear that there is much in place to support those on the margins of the local community or caught up in chaotic life styles, many of them with complex needs. However, gaps or duplication and a lack of co-ordination sometimes limit their effectiveness and efficiency. It was agreed that what is needed is an umbrella or 'sign-posting' organisation that helps to improve the impact of provision and to extend it in order to enable people find the help they are looking for. So, the Ipswich Umbrella Trust came into being.
