Professor Dave Muller
Principal, Suffolk New College
Dave Muller was Principal of Suffolk College from August 1999 following his appointment to the College in 1987 as Vice Principal. He is now Principal of the newly formed Suffolk New College which resulted from the demerger of Suffolk College to establish UCS and a new College of Further Education in 2007. With his senior team he has overseen a major £75 million new build project for Suffolk New College and the completion of a new Sports Hall.
At the last Ofsted Inspection the College was graded as ‘Good’ and there are now ambitious plans as part of the second year of occupying the new buildings to work with local businesses and employers particularly through expanding the apprenticeship programme. He is a Trustee and Acting Chair of the Ipswich Town Football Club Charitable Trust, Chair and Director of IDEA Ltd, a Company of which both UCS and Suffolk New College are in membership to deliver ICT Training regionally and Chair of the newly formed Ipswich Chamber of Commerce, part of the Suffolk Chamber.
His professional area of expertise lies within the field of psychological aspects of disability and rehabilitation. He is an Ipswich Town season ticket holder and supports his wife in showing Terrier breeds in competitions across Europe.
